Das Holzhaus stammt aus den 1920er Jahren. Es wurde auf einer Gartenausstellung in Dresden (Deutschland) ausgestellt, dann dort abgebaut und in Rathen wieder aufgebaut. Schon damals wurde das „Leben auf dem Land“ propagiert.
